Dr. Li Xiang has been working at the front line of clinical anesthesia, treatment of pain and care of critically ill patients. Specializing in anesthesia of difficult surgeries, such as organ transplantation surgery, heart bypass surgery and great artery surgery. Moreover, Dr. Li carried out chronic pain therapy and interventional pain therapy.

After graduating from Xiangya medical college, Professor Li Xiang worked at the Department of Anesthesiology, Third affiliated hospital of Sun yat-sen university. Li is a member of Pain committee in Guangdong Medical Association and Guangdong Precision Medicine Application Association. Moreover, he has been appointed the assistant editor of ANESTHESIOLOGY (Chinese Edition). With long, thorough research and practice experience, Professor Li Xiang has accomplished commendable achievements in the basic and clinical research in the fields of neuropathic pain treatment. The series of studies on neuropathic pain have obtained higher levels of recording, and studies on the mechanism of neuropathic pain has helped enormously to advance our understanding of pain pathway. In recent years, Professor Li Xiang hosted and guided eight foundations including National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. He published more than 20 papers, of which 15 papers are indexed in SCI. As a master tutor and PhD tutor, Li has trained five masters to contribute to the development in the field of Anesthesiology.
