Biography:

Dr. Guoxiong Xu is a Professor of Oncology, Scientist, and Director of the Research Center for Clinical Medicine at Jinshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, China.  He obtained his Medical Degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Shanghai Second Medical University in China, a Master's degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Research from the Free University of Brussels in Belgium, and a Ph.D. degree in Biology from York University in Canada.  Dr. Xu is a molecular and cellular biologist and has presented his work at many national and international scientific conferences. Prof. Xu has a proven track record on cancer biology and the TGF-β signaling pathway and has published over 120 peer-reviewed scientific papers and held 18 invention patents and 12 utility model patents.  He has teaching experience in the areas of Molecular Biology of Cancer, Cell Biology, and Signaling Pathways for undergraduate students and postgraduates.  His research works are supported by research grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Shanghai, the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission.
