　　海口市人民医院是集医疗、教学、科研、预防、保健和康复为一体的三级甲等综合医院，为海南省北部区域医疗中心，1997年被卫生部评为三级甲等医院，2003年成为中南大学湘雅医学院附属海口医院，2020年成为中南大学湘雅医学院海口临床学院。

　　医院占地面积约230亩，业务用房总面积22万多平方米，设备总值9亿多元人民币，总资产约30亿元人民币。编制床位1700张，实际开放床位1868张。有42个临床专科、10个医技科室和7个综合门诊部。年住院病人5.4万人次、门急诊病人129万人次。医院现有职工3170人，卫技人员占87.4%，其中高级专业技术人员512名、中级专业技术人员1329名；享受国务院特殊津贴专家6人，海南省优秀专家13人，海南省领军人才9人，海南省拔尖人才47人。为中南大学硕士和博士研究生培养点，有博士生导师9人、硕士生导师22人，2007年起纳入教育部统招计划面向全国招收研究生。

　　Haikou People's Hospital is a comprehensive Class A tertiary hospital integrating clinical care, medical education, scientific research, wellness and preventive medicine, and serves as a regional medical center for Hainan Province’s northern region. Haikou People’s Hospital was accredited as a Class A tertiary hospital in 1997, then became the Haikou Affiliated Hospital of Xiangya School of Medicine in 2003, and a Fudan University Huashan Hospital Friendship Hospital in 2016. In 2020, it became the Haikou Clinical Teaching Hospital of Central South University Xiangya School of Medicine.

　　The hospital covers an area of 230 acres, with a total area of 220,000 square meters of medical buildings, with equipment valued at approximately 900 million yuan, and total assets of 3 billion yuan. The hospital has 1700 beds with capacity for 1868 beds, 42 clinical departments, 10 ancillary departments, and 7 comprehensive outpatient clinics/community healthcare centers. The hospital has exceeded an annual volume of 54,000 inpatient hospitalizations and 1.29million visits to outpatient and emergency departments. Out of more than 3170employees, more than 87.4% are health professionals, including512 physicians with senior professional titles, and more than 1329 with intermediate professional titles, of whom 50 have doctoral degrees and 389 have master's degrees. The hospital now has 6 State Council specially subsidized experts, 13 Hainan Province Outstanding Experts, 9 Hainan Province Leading Talents, and 47Hainan Province Outstanding Talents. As a training site for Central South University master's and doctoral degree students, there are 9 doctoral degree supervisors and 22 master’s degree supervisors. In 2007, the hospital joined the Ministry of Education national enrollment plan for recruitment of graduate students.
