无锡市第二人民医院始建于1908年，现为三级甲等综合医院，是无锡市红十字医院、无锡市老年病医院，南通大学无锡临床学院，设有无锡市神经外科研究所、无锡市临床检验中心。医院是国家级胸痛中心、国家高级卒中中心、无锡市危重症孕产妇救治中心，设有中国神经内镜培训基地（首批）、国家级博士后科研工作站、5个省市级院士工作站，是上海复旦大学附属中山医院-无锡二院医疗技术协作中心。

医院设南北两个院区，南院位于无锡市中山路68号，北院位于兴源北路585号，核定床位1800张，通过国家电子病历五级测评，取得了互联网医院认证。拥有员工2437人，具有高级专业技术资格人员679人，博士120人，其中博士后15人；享有国务院特殊津贴的专家7人，省、市有突出贡献的中青年专家9人，江苏省“六大人才高峰”高层次人才选拔培养对象12人，江苏省医学重点人才2人，江苏省双创博士3人；无锡市“太湖人才计划”顶尖医学专家团队3个、医学领军人才3人、医学高端人才5人，获批市“双百人才”30人，省“333工程”第五周期培养对象8人等。

近五年，医院获全市卫生系统首个江苏省政府科技进步一等奖，及各类国家、省、市科技类成果奖27项；江苏省医学新技术引进奖44项，其中一等奖8项，二等奖36项；获得无锡市人民政府颁发最高奖励—无锡市腾飞奖3项；国家自然科学基金等国家级立项课题15项，省、市各类科研立项课题326项。作为主编/副主编发表医学专著19部；发表专业论文3138篇，其中SCI收录404篇，中华级539篇，公开专利数704项。

Brief Introduction of Wuxi No.2 People’s Hospital

Wuxi No.2 People's Hospital was first founded in 1908. Now it has developed into a tertiary general hospital，also been known as Wuxi Red Cross Hospital, Wuxi Geriatrics Hospital, the affiliated Wuxi No.2 People’s hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Wuxi clinical college of Nantong University, with Wuxi neurosurgery institute and Wuxi clinical laboratory center. The hospital is the China Chest Pain Center, National Senior Stroke Center, Wuxi Severe Pregnant Treatment Center, China Neuroendoscopy training base (the first batch), National postdoctoral research workstation, Jiangsu academician workstation and Zhongshan hospital-Wuxi No.2 people’s hospital Medical Cooperation Center.

At present, the hospital has two districts，South District and North District. The south one is located at No. 68 Zhongshan Road, Wuxi City, and the north one is located at No. 585 Xingyuan North Road, Wuxi City. It has 1,800 authorized beds, which has passed the National EMR level 5 assessment and obtained Internet hospital certification. There are 2345 employees, 623 with high-level technical qualifications, 105 doctors and 13 post-doctors, 7 experts who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council, and 9 young and middle-aged experts who have made outstanding contributions at the provincial and municipal levels, 12 high-level talents selected and trained by jiangsu Provincial "Six Talent Peaks", 2 key medical talents of Jiangsu Province, and 2 doctors of innovation and entrepreneurship of Jiangsu Province. In the past five years, the hospital has won the first-class prize for scientific and technological progress of Jiangsu Provincial Government  and 55 other national, provincial and municipal scientific and technological achievements awards, as well as 80 prizes of Jiangsu Province medical new technology introduction award, including 16 first prizes and 64 second prizes. It has been awarded the highest prize by Wuxi municipal people's government -- Wuxi Takeoff Award for 3 projects. There were 20 state-level projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 270 provincial and municipal research projects. Besides, the hospital has published more than 25 medical monographs as chief editor and 5304 professional papers, including 515 SCI articles, 682 chinese-level articles and 943 public patents.

The hospital won such titles as National Trustworthy Hospital, Advanced unit of National hospital culture construction and Study-type organization, Satisfactory Service Window of Jiangsu, advanced unit of overall improvement of medical service and promotion of medical ethics. In 2018, it ranked the first among tertiary general hospitals in Jiangsu in the provincial secret investigation of medical service. It won demonstration hospital of 2015-2017 further improvement of medical service and model hospital for improving medical service by the Medical Administration Authority of the National Health Commission in 2020.
