北京大学第三医院检验科在历届科主任的领导下，科室建设及综合实力不断提升，现占地面积为2863平米，已发展为集医疗、教学、科研为一体的区域性临床检验中心。科室设有临床生化、免疫、血液、微生物和分子生物学专业，现有职工80余名，其中硕士及以上学历十余名。2010年获国家首批临床重点专科。2008年6月通过了中国合格评定国家认可委员会ISO15189认可，建立了完整的质量管理体系。开展包括流式细胞术、脉冲场凝胶电泳、自身抗体、过敏原、微量元素、感染免疫、肿瘤标志物、激素、细菌及真菌、核酸测定及分型等检测项目400余项。自2009年起，每年参加美国病理医师学会临床实验室国际能力比对，成绩满意。作为博士点学科、北京大学医学部住院医师规范化培训基地及卫生部和北京市专科医师和技师培训基地，培养研究生和住院医师数十名。承担北京大学医学部医学检验系教学工作及临床医学、基础医学、药学、医学实验技术、护理等专业和夜大本科的教学任务，每年大课和实习课共500多学时。作为副主编和参编的书籍近10部。获国家自然科学基金15项，北京市自然科学基金3项，北京市科委首都临床特色应用研究2项，承担国家“十一五”、“十二五”国家科技支撑计划子课题各2项，卫生部科研基金子课题1项，卫生部回国留学基金1项，北京市科委科技计划项目1项。发表论文120余篇，其中SCI收录20余篇。

Under the leadership of department directors, the Clinical Laboratory Department of Peking University Third Hospital has continuously improved laboratory construction and comprehensive strength. It covers an area of 2863 square meters and has developed into a national clinical laboratory center integrating medical detection, education and scientific research.

Our department has several majors including Clinical Biochemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology. There are more than 80 employees.In 2010 our department won the clinical key specialties. In June 2008, our department passed the ISO15189 accreditation of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and established a complete quality-management system.

Our departmentcarries out more than 400 inspection projects including flow cytometry, pulse-field gel electrophoresis, autoantibodies, allergens, trace elements, infection immunity, tumor markers, hormones, bacteria and fungi, nucleic acid determination and typing.Since 2009, our laboratory has participated in the international Laboratory Proficiency Testing of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) every year and has achieved satisfactory results.

Moreover, the Department of Laboratory has trained dozens of graduate students and residents.We also undertake teaching tasks in the Department of Medical Laboratory, Peking University Medical Department, as well as the undergraduate teaching tasks of clinical medicine, basic medicine, pharmacy, medical experimental technology, nursing and other specialties. There are more than 500 hours of major courses and practical courses each year. Nearly 10 books are edited by our laboratory department.

Our department has received 15 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 projects from the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and 2 projects from the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission Capital Clinical Applied Research, undertook 2 sub-projects of the National "Eleventh Five-Year" Science and Technology Support Program, 2 sub-projects of the National "Twelfth Five-Year" Science and Technology Support Program, 1 sub-project of the Ministry of Health Research Fund, 1 sub-project of the Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars, and 1 project of theBeijing Municipal Science and Technology.Meanwhile, the laboratory has published more than 120 papers, of which more than 20 are included in the SCI.
